Time collapsed, the __Infierno del Sur__ sealed its doors, and the finish line closed at 11:00 a.m. local time in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico. Cyclists who had not yet arrived were notified in advance by the event group to push the final pace toward the finish line, as was the case at each checkpoint as the rules established.

Most are on the beach welcoming the remaining riders and enjoying their well-deserved rest and recognition; and the staff is preparing everything necessary to celebrate the awards ceremony where the trophies will be presented to each category of this __Le Tour de Frankie 2025__.

We are very happy for your great achievement of completing this great __challenge of warrior cyclists__ who gave their all to achieve the goal, both their own and shared.
Those of us who were present as spectators must be aware of the great work, effort, and sacrifice that all the participants have made for a long time before being here. We must also recognize that there were hopes, expectations, and dreams among everyone here, and that the outpouring of support from all sides is what *fills our hearts* and drives us to give our best. Surely, there was a lot of learning for all of us who lived the experience from our respective positions, and this will leave a lasting impression on us.

I dare to speak for the event staff; we are satisfied with the results and with the entire process, which continues to teach us how to improve the event and give our best for you.

El tiempo colapsó, el __Infierno del Sur__ selló sus puertas, la meta se cerró a las 11 horas en tiempo local de Puerto Escondido Oaxaca, Mexico. Los ciclistas que aún no llegan fueron avisados con anticipación en el grupo del evento para que apretaran el paso final rumbo a la meta, así como sucedió en cada checkpoint que se fue cerrando como acordaron las reglas.

La mayoría se encuentra en la playa recibiendo a los restantes y disfrutando de su merecido descanso y reconocimiento; y el staff preparando lo necesario para celebrar la premiación donde se entregarán los trofeos a cada categoría de este __Le Tour de Frankie 2025__.

Estamos muy felices de su gran logro de concluir éste gran __reto de ciclistas guerreros__ que lo dieron todo para lograr la meta, propias y compartidas. 
Los que estuvimos como espectadores del momento debemos ser conscientes del gran trabajo, esfuerzo y sacrificio que han hecho todos y todas las participantes desde hace mucho tiempo antes de estar aquí, también reconocer que hubo ilusiones, espectativas y sueños de todos los aquí presentes, y que las muestras de apoyo que se dieron en todos lados son lo que *nos llena el corazón* y nos impulsa a dar lo mejor de nosotros mismos. Seguramente hubo mucho aprendizaje en todas las personas que vivimos la experiencia desde el lugar que nos tocaba y esto dejará una huella en nuestro ser.

Me atrevo a hablar por el staff del evento, estamos satisfechos por los resultados que se dieron y por todo el proceso que nos sigue enseñando como mejorar el evento y dar lo mejor de nosotros para ustedes.

There is no date that is not met, no deadline that is not fulfilled / No hay fecha que no llegue, plazo que no se cumpla.

In 95 hours and 19 minutes, Carlos Quiroz and Alberto Taquex reached the finish line in third place after a close battle with Francisco Marmolejo and Pablo Mabarak, who fought for position. However, Carlos and Alberto put all their energy into the race and managed to pull away and maintain their position until the finish. An excellent performance at the event.

En 95 hrs 19 mins llegan a la meta Carlos Quiroz y Alberto Taquex en la tercer Dupla, despues de una lucha con Franscisco Marmolejo y Pablo Mabarak quienes dieron pelea por el puesto, sin embargo, Carlos y Alberto metieron toda su energia y lograron separarse y aventajar su posicion hasta el final. Una excelente participacion en el evento.

Third Duo on the coast / Tercera Dupla en la Costa

Sofia Zárate, in the Free category, reached the finish line in 97 hours 33 minutes despite knee and back pain, as well as a minor fall in El Vergel that damaged her handlebars. She also escaped the "Chaneques" of the Oaxacan Mountains, which, according to legend, appear at night.
Sofia fought her internal and external battles, but with her mind focused on reaching the finish line, and for the second time, she accomplished her goal and is now enjoying the rest of the day on the beautiful beaches of Puerto Escondido and the company of other cyclists.

The event's __Free category__ is open to all who wish to participate in the race from an inclusive perspective. Everyone is included here, where labels don't apply and where any cyclist can demonstrate their potential and their physical, mental, and emotional capabilities. The limit is set by you. We hope to see more and more cyclists in this category at Le Tour de Frankie.

Sofia Zárate en la categoría Free llega a la meta en 97 hrs 33 mins a pesar de dolor de rodilla y espalda así como una caida menor en el Vergel que daña su manillar, y escapando de los "Chaneques" de la Sierra Oaxaqueña que aparecen durante noche segun las leyendas.
Sof libró sus batallas internas y externas pero con la mente enfocada en lograr llegar a la meta, y por segunda ocasión cumplió con su cometido y ahora disfruta del descanso en las hermosas playas de Puerto Escondido y de la convivencia de los demas ciclistas.

La __categoria Libre__ del evento está disponible para todos los seres que quieran participar en la carrera desde una perspectiva inclusiva, todos, todas, todes son incluidos aquí, donde las etiquetas no caben y donde cualquier ciclista puede demostrarse así mismo el rendimiento de su potencial y sus capacidades físicas, mentales y emocionales, el límite lo pones tú. 
Esperamos ver cada vez más ciclistas en esta categoría de Le Tour de Frankie.

Sof in Free solo arrived to the Beach! / La Categoría Libre llegó a la playa!

ENGLISH

After 106 hours and 10 minutes, Tania Arana conquered the Infierno del Sur, finishing third in the women's category. She had a great race, consistently ranking among the top spots, maintaining her pace, and running a smart race. She made her ultra-distance debut and performed brilliantly.

With this, we conclude the podium finishes in all categories, and we continue awaiting the other warriors who continue their quest to conquer the Infierno del Sur.

ESPAñOL

Tras  106 horas 10 min Tania Arana conquista el Infierno del Sur, concluyendo en tercera posicion femenil, haciendo una gran carrera, siempre en los primeros lugares, manteniendo el ritmo y haciendo su carrera, una carrera inteligente. Debutando en la ultradistancia y haciendo un gran papel. 

Con esto concluimos los podios de todas las categorias y continuamos en espera de los demas guerreros/ guerreras que continuan en busqueda de conquistar el Infierno del Sur.

Third place women / Tercer lugar mujeres

ENGLISH 

After many miles of suffering, Zaira Contreras finished second in the women's category after a superb race and many moves in the standings, finishing in 3 days, 15 hours, 42 minutes, improving his time considerably compared to previous editions, highlighting that this year the route is more complex.
In the final stretch, Carlos and Alberto are on the verge of third place in the pairs category. 

Sofia Zárate is about to summit the final climb, considered one of the toughest.

ESPAÑOL 

Después de muchos kilómetros de sufrimiento, Zaira Contreras finaliza en segundo lugar femenil tras una súper carrera y muchos movimientos en la general, finalizando en 3 días 15 horas 42 minutos, mejorando su tiempo considerablemente con respecto a las ediciones pasadas, destacando que este año la ruta es mas compleja.

En  la recta final, Carlos y Alberto, a punto de obtener el tercer lugar en parejas.

2nd place womens / 2do lugar femenil

Edna [González](https://www.instagram.com/edna_glez_g/ "Edna's Instagram") manages to arrive in first place! It took her 86 hours 30 minutes.
From the start, she maintained her constant leading position, climbing and descending the highest mountain pass with great agility until she reached Acatlán de Osorio, where Zaira caught up with her. They maintained their positions until reaching Huajapan de León, where Zaira took a well-deserved rest while Edna took the lead to Tamazulapam, with a significant gap over her rival. 
Edna managed to reach the famous CP4 to rest from the accumulated fatigue while Zaira pedaled, and as we explained previously in this written follow-up, it is the gateway to the true Hell of the South: Chalcatongo. At that moment, many were expecting her to leave for the next point before being caught again, Edna left before Zaira landed at CP4.

The difficult mission of reaching CP5 was achieved with all the effort it entailed on the steepest gravel walls, where Zaira pushed her pace and managed to take the lead in Toronjiles, which kept us very attentive to the route of both wonderful cyclists and increased the level of expectation of the public.
Later, Edna fell behind and we watched them descend towards Santiago Jamiltepec, where she again took the lead. Now it was time to reach the coastal road and where some of us thought Zaira would have an advantage due to experience, but it was clear that despite the heat of the coast, Edna, who had already taken a good rest before reaching her and made the difference with her effort on the way to Punta Zicatela.
Everyone was expectant, watching the great performance that this great achievement gave to the new winner of 2025 Le Tour de Frankie: Edna Gonzalez!

Logra llegar Edna González en primer lugar! Le tomó 86 hrs 30 mins.
Desde el inicio mantuvo su posición delantera constante, subió y bajó el puerto de montaña más alto con gran agilidad hasta que llegó a Acatlán de Osorio donde Zaira la alcanzó y se mantienen así hasta llegar a Huajapan de León donde Zaira toma un merecido descanso mientras Edna toma la delantera hasta Tamazulapam, con una importante distancia de su rival.
Edna logra llegar al famoso CP4 para descansar el cansancio acomulado mientras Zaira pedalea, y como hemos expuesto anteriormente en éste seguimiento por escrito, es la puerta del verdadero Infierno del Sur: Chalcatongo. En esos momentos, muchos esperando que saliera al siguiente punto antes de ser alcanzada nuevamente, Edna sale antes de que Zaira aterrizara en el CP4.

La difícil misión de llegar al CP5 se logró con toda lo que implica de esfuerzo en las paredes más fuertes de gravel, donde Zaira apretó el paso y logró tomar la delantera en Toronjiles, lo que nos mantuvo muy atentos al recorrido de ambas maravillosas ciclistas y nos aumentó el nivel de expectativa del público.
Posteriormente Edna se quedó rezagada y veíamos cómo bajaban rumbo a Santiago Jamiltepec, lugar donde de nuevo tomó la delantera.  Ahora seguía llegar a la carretera costera y donde algunos pensamos que Zaira tendría una ventaja por experiencia, pero se notaba que a pesar del calor de la costa Edna, quien ya había tomado un buen descanso antes de alcanzarla y marcó la diferencia con su esfuerzo rumbo a Punta Zicatela.
Todos expectantes observando el gran desempeño que le dio éste gran logro a la nueva ganadora de Le Tour de Frankie 2025: ¡Edna Gonzalez!


1st Place Women's. Exciting fight / 1er Lugar Femenil. Excitante pelea

Time arrived for the second pair of competitors and the walk was over. Osvaldo Garcia & Juan Pablo Hernández put up a fight and, at their own pace, managed to cross the finish line at 12:40 p.m. (local time), completing the course in 83 hours 40 minutes. They easily competed with the pairs behind them, and for the purposes of competitive comparison with the first-place pairs, the difference of 20 hours they achieved was quite significant.

El tiempo llegó para la segunda pareja de competidores y el caminó terminó, Osvaldo Garcia & Juan Pablo Hernández dieron su pelea y a su ritmo logrando cruzar la meta a las 12:40 del mediodía (hora local) cumpliendo el recorrido en 83 hrs 40 mins.
Lucharon fácilmente con las Duplas que venían detrás de ellos y con fines de comparación competitiva con el primer lugar de duplas, fue bastante marcada la diferencia  de 20 horas que lograron.

The second duo arrived / La segunda dupla llegó

The women cyclists are battling for first place, pedaling at full speed along the Oaxacan coast!
[Edna](https://www.instagram.com/edna_glez_g/ "Insta de Edna") leads by just 10 km, and [Zaira](https://www.instagram.com/zairaross/ "Insta de Zaira") is chasing her, pushing hard with high wattage and eager to defend her crown.
Both competitors have extensive competitive experience, and this is where the fruits of their careers as cyclists will be seen, always adding to the individual effort each of them has put in in this Infierno del Sur, where Zaira has more experience but both are veterans in this race.
We'll soon find out the outcome of this women's event.

Las ciclistas están luchando el primer lugar pedaleando a toda velocidad en la costa oaxaqueña! Edna en la delantera por tan solo 10 km y detrás de ella en modo persecución Zaira apretando con muchos watts y ganas de defender su corona.
Las dos competidoras tienen mucha experiencia competitiva y aquí es donde se verán los frutos de su trayectoria como ciclistas, sumando siempre el esfuerzo particular que han hecho cada una en este Infierno del Sur, donde Zaira tiene más experiencia pero ambas son veteranas en ésta carrera.

El desenlace en muy poco tiempo donde sabremos que resultó de este evento femenil.

Day 3 ends and Edna, maintaining a good pace, reaches CP5 Casa Toronjiles, Zaira is on the descent from Buenavista to Independencia (you can sleep at the municipal agency) and Paola is on the tough climb of Vergel, many runners will never forget that climb.

In the doubles category, Osvaldo and Juan Pablo are about to summit the Ixtlayutla mountain pass, one of the most challenging climbs on the tour with gradients of over 18%, followed by a long descent toward San José de las Flores. Third place is a close call between Francisco and Pablo and Carlos and Alberto. Sofía Zárate is in Chalcatongo, taking a recovery break and analyzing the condition of her knee after a poorly placed plate.

ESPAÑOL

Termina día 3 y Edna manteniendo buen ritmo llega a CP5 Casa Toronjiles, Zaira se encuentra en la bajada de Buenavista a Independencia (puedes dormir en la agencia municipal) y Paola en la dura subida del Vergel, a muchos corredores jamás se les olvidará esa subida.

En modalidad duplas Osvaldo y Juan Pablo están por coronar el puerto de Ixtlayutla, una de las subidas más retadoras del tour con rampas de más del 18% para después hacer un largo descenso hacia San José de las Flores y la tercera posición está peleada entre Francisco y Pablo vs Carlos y Alberto 

Sofía Zárate se encuentra en Chalcatongo tomando un descanso recuperador y analizando la situación de su rodilla por una placa mal puesta. 

Another starry night/ Otra noche estrellada 

Nelson Chavez & Emmit Rivera reached the finish line for the second time in this 2025 edition. They set an excellent race pace, completing the finish line in 63 hours and 22 minutes, which represents an improvement in their times. This year, the difficulty level of the gravel segment increased, and the finish line is a little further away, yet they still managed to lower their time by almost half an hour.
The pairs remain active, advancing at their own pace.

Edna remains in the lead among the women, and Zaira continues in pursuit, breaking away from Paola. The three are crossing the true hell of the south, where gravel is intense.
Sofia in Chalcatongo is gathering strength to follow Yosundua.
The only women's pair continues to cross the route at their own pace and advance forward.
Some runners have already withdrawn from the race for various reasons, from technical failures, injuries, or fatigue.

Nelson Chavez & Emmit Rivera alcanzaron la meta por segunda ocasión, en ésta nueva edición del 2025, marcaron un excelente ritmo de carrera logrando la meta en 63 horas y 22 minutos lo que significa una mejora en sus tiempos ya que en ésta edicion subió el nivel de dificultad del segmento de gravel y aún así consiguieron bajar su tiempo por casi media hora.
Las duplas siguen activas avanzando a su paso con ahínco.

Edna sigue en la delantera femenil y Zaira sigue en la persecución separándose de Paola, las tres  van cruzando el verdadero infierno del sur donde el gravel se vive con intensidad.
Sofia en Chalcatongo tomando fuerza para seguir a Yosundua.
La unica Dupla femenil sigue cruzando la ruta a su rutmo y avanzando havai adelante.
Algunos corredores ya han abandonado la carrera por diferentes motivos, desde fallas técnicas, lesiones o cansancio.
